About Nova

Nova is a companion for fertility treatment. It holds the medications, the appointments, the results, the dates and the record of every cycle you have been through, so that the treatment is the only part you have to carry.

Why it exists

Nova was built by somebody who went through ICSI and frozen embryo transfers, and found that treatment demanded an extraordinary amount of organisation at exactly the point when there was least mental space for it. A protocol sheet from the clinic. Injection times set as phone alarms. Scan results on a printout in a drawer. A storage renewal date on a letter that arrived ten months ago. None of it talking to any of the rest.

The apps that existed either felt too simplistic, or treated fertility care as an extension of period tracking. Nova is the one that was missing.

Who it is for

People preparing for or going through IVF, ICSI, frozen embryo transfer, IUI or egg freezing, and the partners, family and friends they choose to bring in.

It is deliberately not a conception app and not a period tracker. Treatment does not follow a neat, predictable path, so Nova is built for delays, changed plans, cycles that end early and transfers that do not take place. Those are not edge cases; for most people they are the actual experience.

What it deliberately does not do

Nova records what you and your clinic put into it, and shows it back to you. It does not interpret results, comment on whether a number is normal, calculate a treatment time or offer an opinion about your care. Where a guide would have had to assert a clinical figure, the figure was removed rather than guessed. The medical information disclaimer sets the boundary out in full, and the software is built to keep it.

There is no advertising and no third-party tracking anywhere in Nova, and we do not sell personal data. We count how many cycles reach each stage, which is how we find out where the app is letting people down; those counts are not attached to anybody. Anything more detailed than that is off unless you turn it on. The privacy notice explains exactly what is stored and who can see it, including where the limits of “encrypted” sit.

How it is paid for

By the people who use it, which is the only funding model that keeps the incentives straight. Keeping your treatment history is free and stays free. Tracking a live cycle is a one-off pass, or a year of unlimited cycles. Nothing you have already recorded is ever locked behind a payment. See pricing.

Clinic reviews

Nova also publishes patient reviews of fertility clinics across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, alongside the regulator’s own published figures. Every review is read by a person before it appears, outcome is recorded but never scored, and clinics have a right of reply. That work is kept visually and editorially separate from the app, because a review platform is only worth reading if it is independent of what it is reviewing.
