Nova

Disclaimer

Nova is not a medical service

Nova organises information you have been given. It is not a clinician, it does not give medical advice, and it must never be used in place of your treatment team.

What Nova is

Nova is an organisational and educational tool for people undergoing fertility treatment. It helps you record and keep track of information your clinic has given you, including medications, doses, appointments, treatment stages and your own notes, and presents that information back to you.

Nova does not diagnose, treat, prevent or monitor any disease or condition. It does not calculate, recommend or adjust any treatment. It does not interpret results. Every clinical instruction it displays is one you entered from your own clinic.

What that means in practice

These are not statements of intent. They are constraints the software actually keeps.

  • Nova never calculates a treatment time. A trigger time is stored only because you entered what your clinic told you. Nothing is derived from it.
  • An estimate never becomes a confirmation. A date you have not been given is shown as not yet known, and cannot quietly acquire a time.
  • Missing information is never turned into a number. “Not recorded”, “not known yet”, “my clinic has not told me” and a confirmed zero are kept apart everywhere, on screen and in the database.
  • Nova does not comment on your results. If a number you record is outside a range, Nova will not say so, will not flag it and will not show you a “normal” range to compare it against. It records what you entered.
  • The guides defer to your clinic. They describe what typically happens at a stage. They do not tell you what will happen in your cycle, and where a specific figure would have been asserted, it was removed rather than guessed.

Reminders are a convenience, not a safety system

A reminder can be delayed or stopped by your phone, your operating system, your network, or a permission you have turned off without realising. Please do not rely on Nova alone for a timed medication. Set a second alarm for anything that matters.

If something is wrong or urgent

Contact your clinic. If it is out of hours, use the emergency number your clinic gave you. If somebody is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number: 999 or 111 in the UK, 000 in Australia, 111 in New Zealand.

Nothing on this website or in the Nova app has been reviewed by a clinician for use as clinical guidance, because it is not clinical guidance. Where you find a difference between what Nova shows you and what your clinic has told you, your clinic is right.

Reviews are opinion

Clinic reviews on this site are the personal experiences of the patients who wrote them. They are not clinical assessments, and a score is not a measure of the care you would receive. Published success rates come from the regulator and are shown with the year and source they came from, never blended into a rating.
